What each home record can include
- The appliance or system name, category, and room or area.
- A maintenance task and the next date you plan to do it.
- A repeat interval when you want the task to recur, plus a service history each time you mark it done.
- Optional model or serial details and a warranty end date.
Set up a home maintenance schedule
- Start with one appliance or home system you want to remember.
- Use its manual or other reliable guidance to choose the maintenance task and interval.
- Enter the next due date and any model or warranty details you want nearby.
- Review the due-soon and warranty views when you open the log.
- Export current maintenance and warranty dates as one-day events in an ICS file. Export again after changing a date; the file does not live-sync.
- Export a CSV for a spreadsheet or save a JSON backup.
For a printable starting point, use the monthly and seasonal home maintenance schedule.
Keep household details on your device
Item names, rooms, model details, maintenance tasks, and dates stay in the current browser. There is no account or cloud sync, so export a backup before switching browsers or devices.
For a broader view of these records, read about the home inventory app for appliance upkeep. If you prefer a spreadsheet, use the blank maintenance log template to record service dates and completed work.
